“It is with great regret that we announce the death of Alan Cartwright, our chairman, brother, father and uncle,” says a statement issued by the firm. “Alan sadly passed away on the evening of Wednesday 2 November. Well known and loved by so many people, Alan will be greatly missed. He was a dedicated family and business man, devoting 59 years to building a business. His hard work, inspiration, innovation and guidance over this time, working together with Peter, then John, Steven and Mark, has made the Cartwright group into the company that you all know today. A great man who will be sadly missed by many.”
