Two months after Cardiff-based Dragon Rescue closed its doors, the rolling stock is sold by Malcolm Harrison Auctions

Words: Kevin Swallow

MALCOLM HARRISON Auctions sold the rolling stock of fallen Welsh recovery business Dragon Rescue after the company closed its doors.

The recovery business, which had sites in Cardiff, Merthyr and Pyle, ceased trading two months ago (CM 8 September 2011), due to diminishing levels of work and unsupportive banks, according to chairman Stephen Powell.

Thirty-three vehicles, sold on behalf of Singers Corporate Asset Finance and with many bodied by recovery manufacturer Roger Dyson, attracted 174 registered buyers. “We were happy with the outcome of the sale and so too were Singers,” says Malcolm Harrison auction manager Charlie Foyle.

“Bidders knew that these vehicles came from a recognised source, and that they’d been well looked after. The fact that the majority were fitted with Dyson equipment helped, as Roger’s recovery systems enjoy an excellent reputation within the industry – operators know and trust it to do the job,” he adds. ■
