The parliament’s Employment Committee is pressing for action on muscular skeletal disorders in its mid-term review of the EC’s strategy for health and safety at work. Professional drivers are among the groups targeted. “It’s a classic ailment affecting their wrists and tendons,” says MEP Stephen Hughes, “Imagine how many times a driver changes gear in a year.”
