Lorry driver Mr M dived into icy water to rescue four people trapped in an overturned car.
A witness said that the car seemed to have a puncture and it just flew across the road into a water-filled ditch on the M5.
Mr M saw two of the passengers standing by the car crying for help and did not hesitate to dive straight in.
The 22-year old driver and his grandmother were taken to the Intensive Care Unit at Weston General Hospital and the two other passengers were released after treatment.
