I would like to nominate the driver of our school minibus who one morning in January, 1984, as he was coming through Molesey, Surrey, at 6.4 5pm, witnessed a car knock a paperboy off his cycle and drive off at speed.
He chased him up the A3 but was unable to catch him, although he did manage to get the make of the car and its registration number.
He returned to the boy and took him to the police and gave them the details. The boy was injured and his bicycle was wrecked.
I understand the driver has since been traced.
