SNCF's 1,800 passenger vehicle ferry, the 9,069-tonne Champs Elysees — the largest ferry ever to be introduced on crossChannel routes — has joined her sister ship the Cate d'Azur, on Sealink's Dover/Calais crossing. Lorry drivers have the benefit of their own self-contained lounge and restaurant.
The Champs Elysees can carry fifty-four 15-metre-length road haulage vehicles or 300 cars — or a mixture of both — accommodated on two deck levels. Vehicles at Dover and Calais can be loaded/unloaded simultaneously via upper and lower road access to the twin decks.
