D Nine vehicles and two t'railers have been -emoved from the licence authorizing 13 /chides and four trailers belonging to Beech )f Cardiff Ltd by the South Wales LA bllowing the issue to the company of six 3V9s since April last year.
Mr D. Beech, the firm's managing director, ;aid that only six vehicles were being verated at the moment. He agreed that he lad been unable to provide a vehicle :xaminer with records but since June the lecessary records had been kept. The :ompany kept a strict budgetary control on :ach vehicle and he thought that this was itifficient. Since October last year the :ompany had had a garage for which £3000 ▪ rent was being paid annually.
Of the six prohibitions four had been immediate and one of these had been placed on a trailer which had been at a testing station. One of the delayed prohibitions had been put on a vehicle involved in an accident. Mr Beech told the LA that there would be no repetition of the past troubles and he promised that records would be correctly kept.
The LA, Mr R. R. Jackson, reminded Mr Beech of warnings he had been given in 1961 and 1962 and it was also stated that one vehicle had been suspended in 1964. The LA said he took a very serious view of the situation. Promises had been given before but he reminded the court that the Transport Tribunal had stated that LAs should refer to the past and not to the future in making their decisions. The LA decided to reduce the licence to four vehicles and two trailers.
