• A new dial-a-bus service introduced by the West Yorkshire Road Car Co in Harrogate has already attracted an average load of six passengers — eight or 10 it is calculated are needed to make the service pay. Among other things, it will deliver passengers to their grocer or butcher and drop them back on their doorstep.
This new form of transport has been introduced by the company to keep pace with changing times. A fleet of 15-seater minibuses will operate for six months. If it is successful it will be extended, if not it will be dropped.
