AN ORDER worth £2-fm has been placed with Leyland Motors by Istanbul Municipality for a fleet of chassisless one-manoperation city buses. The buses will have Metropolitan-Cammell-Weymann bodies designed in collaboration with the Istanbul authorities, and will be 35ft long and 8ft wide. Seating capacity is to be 37, with room for 45 standing passengers. The 300 which have been ordered will be powered by the Leyland 0.680 engine.

• BLACKBURN'S transport department reports that although for the year ended March 31 the number of passengers carried fell to 29,888.136, "the year's expenditure was, however, contained, resulting in a net deficiency of only £8,058".
