EASTBOURNE Corporation transport committee reports that contracts for the supply of three Leyland Atlanteans with East Lancashire Coachbuilders Ltd. bodywork, which would have been the undertaking's first rear-engined double-deckers, are to be varied. Instead three Leyland Panther rear-engined single-deckers with East Lancashire bodies are to be supplied for delivery in May /June, next year.
Eastbourne recently introduced a 36ft Daimler Roadliner single-decker with East Lanes body, its first single-decker of modern layout, and another two similar vehicles are on order.
