Pictured on Monday in the Lake District valley of Martindale is the North's first mail bus —which follows the establishment of a similar service in Wales. Each day this GPO Morris makes two 10mile return journeys from Penrfth to Martindale, carrying mail and passengers. Only 10 passengers used the service on the first three days of operation, however. Said a GPO spokesman last week: "We think it will be used more when people get to know the service.''
