AElectric drive has been used experimentally in some countries for military vehicles but no details are available.
Information has been released by the Berliet company of France of an experimental 40-ton articulated four-wheel-drive dumper which is powered by a diesel engine and is equipped with this type of transmission. In one version of the dumper it is employed in conjunction with a two-speed mechanical drive.
Incidentally, the vehicle is also equipped with a hydro-pneumatic type of suspension system.
