Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HIOLIDAYS during August reduced production, but exports continued at a high level, says the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. During the month, 16.199 commercial vehicles were built, of which 10,140 were for export and 6,059 for the home market. Production averaged 4.050 a week, compared with 5,106 a week in July.

The 15,312 goods vehicles, road haulage tractors, and special-type vehicles constructed were divided as follows :-Under 15 cwt., 7,163; 15 cwt. to 6 tons, 7,759; over 6 tons, 390. The 852 motorbuses and trolleybuses consisted of 439 single-deck and 384 double-deck motorbuses and 29 trolleybuses. In addition, the number of battery-electric vehicles constructed was 35.

Output for the first eight months totalled 171,537 vehicles (108,943 for

export and 62,594 for the home market) made up as follows :-162,542 goods vehicres, road haulage tractors and special-type vehicles (79,712 under 15 cwt.; 78,470, 15 ewt. to 6 tons; 4,360, over 6 tons); 7,988 passenger vehicles (4,835 single-deckand 2,964 doubledeck motorbuses, and 189 trolleybuses); 1,007 battery-eleetrics. In addition, 446 electric prams and 4,260 works trucks were produced.

Exports of vehic.es, industrial trucks', trailers, etc., in August totalled 14,028 units (0,789,340) compared with 13,170 units (0,575,725) in July. From January to August, exports increased to 104,186 units valued at £43,186,392. Used commercial vehicles exported numbered 2,161 (£1,658,698), in addition to which 54,418 agricultural tractors (£19,128,826) and parts and accessories to the value at £33,347,175 were shipped overseas.
