DECISION has been given on the claim of the Transport and General Workers' Union for increased shift and night rates, which was heard in September by the National Council for the Omnibuz Industry and the National Joint Industrial Council for the Road Passenger Tcansport Industry. The shift rate of 3d. per hour and night work rate of time-and-one-fifth have been turned down.

Before the decision was given it had been announced that the T.G.W.1). was consulting with other unions with a view to submitting a claim for substantial wage increases for all grades of passenger trait ;port worker. A claim in respect of London Transport workers is also tinder consideration.
