Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FOR 1932 the Sheffiex chassis have been modified in detail to give an improved performance. Both the exhibits are of the six-wheeler class, although four-wheelers are, of course, manufactured. The principal novelty on one of the chassis is the provision of full forward control. This allows a greater loading space; as the vehicle is question is destined to carry supplies of long steel bars and rods, this additional space will be a marked advantage.

As regards recent modifications, these concern principally the layout of the brake gear. A system of compensation is employed as between the brakes on the centre axle and the trailing axle, whilst compensation also occurs between the brakes on the right-hand side

and the left-hand side of each axle. Sixteen-inch drums are DOW used and the width of the shoes has been increased. An inspection of the new type of drum shows that no trouble should be encountered due to distortion or noise.

in each case the four-cylinderal Dorman engine drives through a separately mounted four-speed gearbox to a wormtype rear axle. The pay-load of bath chassis is four tons.

A detail feature which 'permits accessibility is the grouping of the instruments on a narrow strip-type facia on the chassis which has normal control. Another point is that the front crossmember is of the readily detachable type, thus allowing the engine unit to be moved out forwards for overhaul, rather than having to lift it up from the frame.

As in former models, the Marelli vacuum servo is employed to give added power to the operation of the service brake, whilst the hand brake is, of course, operated by manual effort.— Sheffiex Motors, Ltd.. Tinsley, Sheffield.
