Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CONCENTRATION upon the 2-ton class of goods carrier is undoubtedly the main characteristic of the 1932 programme of the subsidiary concern marketing Reo products in this country. Actually, the chassis is intended for loads of 35-40 cwt., and it is available in two wheelbase lengths and with either Mx-cylindered or four-cylinderecl engines.

The short four-cylinder type is shown as .a stripped chassis, the wheelbase being 11 ft. 4 ins. There are five main bearings to this smaller engine, which develops 51 b.h.p. at 2,500 r.p.m. The four-speed gearbox provides a range -of forward ratios between 5.6 to 1 and 86.9 to 1. A spiral-bevel final drive with fully floating shafts is standardized.

A chassis of similar -wheelbase, haying the six-cylindered engine, is the II type which is shown complete with an enclosed cab • and hand-tipping body. This power unit develops 61 b.h.p.

D40

The C type has the four-cylindered engine and a long wheelbase of 13 ft. 4 ins. In this case the chassis carries an enclosed cab and drop-side lorry body with 18-in. sides. The model GC 4-tonner also will be shown. An alteration that has recently been made is the fitting of a heaver steering mechanism. The engine in this ease is the familiar Gold Crown unit of six cylinders, developing 67 b.h.p.

Another of the 0 class, the GD machine, haying a similar engine but a wheelbase of 12 ft., is displayed with a semi-trailer, thus forming an articulated six-wheeler, the body. of which is a product of the Truck and Tractor Appliance Co. (Manchester), Ltd.

Those interested in the passenger side will he attracted to the GE-type 26seater service bus on the stand, this having a body by Herbert E. Taylor and CO, Ltd., Norwich.

Quite a new Reo model is the 2Ltype .20-passenger chassis which has a similar engine to that referred to above, but weighing 1 ton 173 cwt., having a wheelbase of 12 ft. 9 ins., and 7.00-in.
