Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

results in 2006, its strong financial performance is continuing into 2007. According to firstquarter results, the German manufacturer boosted its share of the European truck market above six tonnes to 16.7% up from 15.3% in Q1 2006.

The MAN order book is up 33% in terms of the value of its orders; the company is on course to hit its 2007 production target of 96,000 trucks. MAN chairman Anton Weinmann (pictured) says the preliminary figures for April are also looking positive with turnover up 18%, fuelled by a booming truck market in Europe particularly Germany and the EU accession states of Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

MAN's only problem seems to be how to keep up with demand -lead times are lengthening fast. Operators in Eastern Europe are being quoted nearly 12 months from order to delivery of some models, while UK operators will have to wait until November.

MAN blames its suppliers, particularly wheel and suspension manufacturers, for these delays, but with the CV market booming throughout Europe there are no signs of shortages easing any time soon. It will take some months for the component suppliers to crank up production to meet rising demand.
