SOMERSET-BASED transport and distribution firm RT Keedwell has ordered 75 Euro-4 Scanias.

As with most truck purchases these days, the choice between SCR and EGR was a factor in the decision. RT Keedwell director Stuart Keedwell says:"As a result of what we've seen so far we certainly don't want to he involved with AdNue until necessary.

-There haven't been any fuel benefits with SCR in our own trials: in fact I can't see any benefit Fin the] short term," he adds."The Scanias were the best on fuel."

The new vehicles are all Topline-cabbed R420 x2/4MNA twin-steer tractor units supplied by Scanias ott Bridgwater depot.

The Scanias will be based at Keedwell's l 0 depotsaround the country — 45 will be delivered this year; the remainder will arrive early in 2008,
