Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

a retest; I was informed that the earliest date in Newbury was mid-June and told to call Vosa's national number. I did, and after 45 minutes on the phone looking up availability for Newbury, Bicester, Caine, Southampton, Gloucester, Bristol, Avonmouth, Guildford, Mitcham and Poole found there was no MoT slot until middle of June.

"In the end I was offered a test out of hours in a week's time at double the cost —£171 for wagon and drag. Why can't we book over the Internet?"

Samantha Janes Ashridge Plant Hire Thatcham. Berks "I had one test, which I booked in person at Derby test station, at the end of March which the truck failed. I then rang back but had a hell of a job rebooking. I simply couldn't get through, ringing back every 20 minutes. I tried both Derbyand the central number in Leeds. I have one truck, but what would it be like for someone with 20? You'd spend half your day just trying to get through to Vosa.

"This simply isn't fair. There's so much bureaucracy and Vasa expects to be able to get in touch with us whenever it needs to. But you can't get in touch with Vosa."

David Theohald Owner-driver "Answering the telephone is not a priority any more. We tell people to ring us to book a retest, but of course there won't be anyone to answerthe phone — people tell us they can't ever get through."
