Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Stockeurop International road-rail consortium has launched Stockeurop Logistic International, formalising its Continental links in preparation for 1992.

The new company has four main shareholders: Stockeurop Distribution UK and Ireland; HN Transport and Distribution, based in Belgium; Rhenania Schieffahrts, representing Germany and Austria; and StockalHance in France. Each company has invested 200,000fr (around 220,000) and partners are now being sought in Italy and Spain.

The combined assets of Stockeurop Logistics International, which handles transport, warehouse and distribution, include 2,000,000m2 of covered warehousing space, and 5,000 trucks, not including subcontractors.

Chairman of the Anglo-Irish arm, Les Allinson, says the resources of the company will take it to the fore of the international logistics scene, exploiting the new opportunities of the single market and Eurotunnel.

"It is an exciting development enabling our companies to participate in the open market of Europe," he says.

Stockeurop Distribution has recently completed its own structure in Britain which now includes three rail-linked warehousing/distribution depots and is offering a regional, national and pan-European package in addition to logistics consultancy and management.

There are eight constituent trading companies: Bibby Distribution Services at Wolverton, Milton Keynes; Railstore, in Romford, Essex; Transglobal in Bristol; DMW Logistics in the Midlands; JDF Transport and Warehousing in the North of England; Byfords Cargo Express in East Anglia; Associated Business Developments in the North East, and Blue Flite in Ireland.
