• Petersdeld haulage and forwarding firm European Shipping plans to recruit up to 30 UK and Irish hauliers to handle its expanding international business.
The company, which was set up last September, plans to acquire a company near Dublin in the next month. There will be up to three administrative staff at the site and 10 drivers will be based there.
A depot to be opened in Spain, probably in Valencia, in the next three months will not have any drivers permanently based there.
The organisation is looking for hauliers with 38-tonners to join its team of 40 drivers, to handle work mainly to and from Spain, Italy, Greece and the Eastern Bloc countries. It handles mainly general haulage, but has 10 reefers, for temperature-controlled work.
