Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Oldham-based truck builder Seddon Atkinson is pushing ahead with its plans to offer air-suspension on the drive axle of its Strato heavy truck range. Three pilot conversions — one 4x2 and two twinsteers — have already been produced using Norde air suspension equipment.

Reaction to the 4x2 tractor conversion has been sufficiently favourable for Seddon Atkinson to describe it as a "factoryapproved modification". The two 6x2 tractors will be evaluated by the factory and by Aberdeen-based haulier Craibs which is expected to become the first UK company to take delivery of an air-suspended Strato tractive unit.

The Norde conversion consists of a conventional quarter leaf elliptic spring with an air bag and damper. It was chosen in preference to the existing SAF air-suspended back axle on the recently-launched Pegaso Ironer TX because of its lower cost.
