The Transport Department is discussing the, possibility 01 a scheme similar to thosE applied in Europe for nationa approval for commercia vehicles.
Stating this in the Corn, mons, Mr Norman Fowler, thc Minister, said he expected a decision to be arrived at shortly, and then industry would be consulted.
He was replying to Mr Robert Atkins, (Tory, Preston North) who had wanted to know what discussions Mr Fowler had had with Leyland Vehicles concerning type approval regulations.
