A JOINT managementtrade union exercise has been completed at London Transport with a view to minimizing the effects of staff shortages on London buses this summer. The main aim is to reduce the number of random cancellations and so provide a less irregular service.
During the summer months at least I 2 per cent of bus operating staff will be away each week on annual leave in addition to the varying level of staff shortages.
