AWhere vehicles have been operated under
the provisions relating to abnormal indivisible loads one person in addition to the driver must be in attendance if the vehicle or load exceeds 8ft but does not exceed 9ft 6in. in width. Over 9ft 6in. two attendants are required but there is an exemption to allow for only one attendant if, despite exceeding 9ft 6in., the vehicle is engaged on engineering operations and moves on the road for such work only.
