Ford Motor Company in succession to Sir Patrick Hennessy. Mr. Crosland, who has been a Ford director for six years, was appointed deputy chairman on January 1. A Yorkshireman, he joined the company in 1937. Sir Patrick Hennessy, 70, who announced his impending retirement in April, has been associated with Ford for 43 years: he will remain as a consultant and as chairman of Henry Ford and Son and of the Ford (Dagenham) Trust. W. B. Batty continues as chief executive, having succeeded Mr. Crosland as managing director last January.
