• At Cockermouth last week Mr. I. A. T. Hanlon, the Northern LA, granted A. Piekthall, Cleator Moor, the addition of two car transporters to its B-licence despite objections by Progressive Deliveries Ltd., and five others. With regard to one vehicle, a contract licence will be surrendered.
At the same inquiry F. Brown (Thursby) Ltd., Carlisle, was granted an additional B-licensed 10-ton articulated low-loader for: "Plant and materials for the construction of roads and buildings for John Laing construction Ltd.; Cumberland Local Authority; Seamore Plant (Northern) Ltd., within 50 miles, otherwise 25 miles radius and the County of Cumberland."
