PASSENGER VEHICLE operatore nave suffered another severe setback in the increase of the price of petrol by id., in addition to the proposed raising of the tax on oil fuel from id. to 8cr. The higher cost of petrol will increase Edinburgh Corporation's commitments by about £4,500 and the new oil duty by about £4,000. Glasgow will have to face an additional expenditure of £42,500, of which the oil tax will be responsible for £30,000 and the increased price of petrol: £12,500.

NEW GLASGOW GARAGE FOR 100 COACHES.

AFINE garage, with a frontage of 290 ft. and with accommodation for 100 coaches and buses, is to be built by the Road Transports Co. (Glasgow), Ltd., between Washington Street and M'Alpine Street, Glasgow. The ground floor will be used for parking. On the first floor will be dormitories, with sleeping accommodation for 150 men, whilst on the second floor there will be a large space for the storage of goods carried by lorries.
