TT had to happen. Announce the imminent formation of a new body and everyone starts putting up his idea of who is likely to be offered the top job. So we have two new games to play: "Guess the NFO chief" and "Who gets the FIC ?" So far as the first game's concerned I've already heard at least two names canvassed: John Chester, chairman of Tartan Arrow Service Ltd., and W. R. Alexander, Tayforth chairman and recently-appointed chairman of Harold Wood and Sons. The rules of the game are simple: you take your pick, or add another name of your own. But I'm more intrigued by the second game. Mrs. Castle referred to the FTC (Freight Integration Council) last month; nobody had heard of it before; nobody's heard of it since. But Babs—who isn't given to idle name dropping—apparently intends it to help the NFO to work closely with British Railways. No names yet heard for running the FIC.
