XPRESSING the hope that a little
could be rescued from the wreck of a haulage business started in 1930, the North Western Licensing Authority, Mr. F. Williamson, reserved his decision on an application by J. R. and G. T. Cadwallader, Pontrobert, Mont, at Wrexham on Monday, expressing the hope that the parties could reach some agreement. He said that Mr. J. R. Cadwatlader was "clearly masquerading" as manager of the business of 0. I. Williams, Meifod, Mont, after Mr. Williams had become too ill to.run it.
Cadwallader's were applying for an acquisition A licence for three vehicles. If this was granted the A licence authorized to 0. I. Williams would be surrendered. Mr. J. Backhouse, for the applicants, described how Mr. Williams had become ill over two years ago and had offered his business for sale. There had been a 12 months' delay when a prospective buyer had eventually withdrawn his offer, and Mr. Cadwallader had then agreed to manage the business. During the 12 months since then the three vehicles had earned £6,135.
There were 15 objectors.
