Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PA A further six drivers employed by Okeharriptonbased Bryan Haulage have pleaded guilty to drivers' hours offences. This takes the total number to nine, with 51 others still awaiting prosecution by the Vehicle Inspectorate.

All six pleaded guilty; Okehampton magistrates fined them a total of £650 with 1335 costs.

Three Bryan drivers pleaded guilty to hours offences In April. One of them, Paul Carpenter from Redruth, was fined £1,800 with £125 costs after owning up to 33 charges of falsifying tachograph charts and three of using a false instrument (a forged chart).

Defending, Alastair Pilling said Carpenter was driven to commit the offences by his pay and conditions. New pay rules meant he was only being paid £6.30 an hour— and he was paid only while his truck was moving.

The remaining 51 drivers are expected to be prosecuted at Barnstable magistrates court.
