to pass through Syria on its way east, the Department of Transport announced this week. As yet no details of the ban are available.
A DTp warning to operators has gone out and it is now plain that all freight for Iraq will have to go via Beirut.
This week a spokesman for the Syrian Embassy in London said he did not know when the ban would become effective.
