Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE laying of pipes is one of the many uses to which the Hiab Hoist, a hydraulically powered jib crane, can be put when mounted on a vehicle. Attachments are available for loading barrels, pipes, crates and so on. and will lift loads of up to a ton. The jib has a lateral movement of 45° in each direction, and it is possible to load or unload goods from both sides of the truck, a facility which can be useful in certain circumstances.

Grab-scoop attachments can be fitted for loading sand and gravel, and the crane can be used for pulling logs. The sole concessionnaires in this country are J. R. Gordon and Co., 14-16 Newgate Street, Chester. The unit shown in the accompanying picture was supplied and installed by Kays (Derby), Ltd., Ashbournc Road, Derby, the Midland and East of England distributors.

The sides are 3 ft. 4 in. high and, including the radiused corners of the roof, the internal height is about 4 ft.

Sand is loaded from overhead through two waterproof sliding covers in the roof, each 4 ft. long and 3 ft. wide. It is discharged from the rear when the body has been elevated by the Pilot twin-ram telescopic gear. The rear of the body is formed into a hopper in which sand is directed through a small sealed door in the rear panel.
