Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A TRANSPORT moving-floor body 4-1, has been built on a Leyland Octopus chassis by Glover. Webb and Liversidge, Ltd., 561 Old Kent Road, Lcndon, S.E.I, for J. W. Porter (Mount Sorrel), Ltd., Mount Sorrel, Leicester, who will use the vehicle to carry coal in winter and tarmacadam in the summer.

Considering the nature of tarmacadam, the bodybuilders view its carriage on one of their moving floors in the nature of an experiment. The coal to be carried will be small and the floor will not be subjected to any severe treatment during loading.

A feature of the all-steel body is that it can be used either with 2-ft.-deep sides, as when carrying tarmacadam, or full-depth-4 ft.— when carrying coal, as the top half is removable. There are thus two tail doors, one for use with each depth of body. The moving floor is driven, via a power take-off which drives, by chain, a gearbox having epicyclic and worm reduction gears giving a ratio of 90 to 1, at 1,000 r.p.m. of the engine. The approximate speed of travel of the floor is 20 ft. per min. Body dimensions are 24 ft. by 7 ft., with a maximum height of 4 ft. The maximum payload is 14 tons.

The complete vehicle was supplied to the operatcus by Ford and Slater, Ltd., Gwendolin Road, Leicester.
