Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Names such as Eddie Stobart, Phillips of Seahouses, TNT, Duncan Adams, Curries and Europa are well known and regularly seen on our roads. What is less well known is that all these companies' trucks can also be seen travelling on roads throughout Russia and the Baltic states. Before any concerned transport planners call me worried that they have diverted their drivers to the wrong destination, perhaps I should explain.

All these trucks were second-hand vehicles seen by a regular photo-diary contributor to TruckNet UK who is in the middle of a trip lasting a few months covering most of Europe. It seems that while the trucks new owners are happy to pay to convert them to left-hand drive, their budgets don't often extend to respraying or removing the original livery.

In the Owner-Drivers forum there is a lively discussion between a haulier and ownerdrivers. It is rare that a company named on the forums takes the time to address any questions raised about its operation. In this case the company director has engaged in open dialogue with potential and current subcontractors — including those who have issues with working for him. This is a refreshing approach that appears to be welcomed by the owner-drivers using the forum.
