Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ECON/ATKINSON, the Ripon-based highway maintenance equipment engineering firm, has produced a elcum skip-mounted gritter to maximise vehicle use.

Its operation uses the prime mover's diesel engine to drive a hydraulic pump. Two hand levers located inside the vehicle cab operate hydraulic flow control valves in the circuit which vary the speed of the hopper conveyor belt to control discharge rate, give operator speed-related spreading and/or spread width control.

It is designed to meet BS1622/1976/Class B standard for salt spreaders and incorporates the liberal use of stainless steel, at key points most vulnerable to corrosion, a blockage-resisting discharge system, using the cascade flow principle, and ECON's six-stage anti-corrosion finishing process.

For relatively low outlay, a skip loader can be quickly converted into a salt spreader.
