Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PrHERE is a fear among removers I holding B-licences in the Metropolitan Area that when Section 125 of the Transport Act, 1947, is repealed on December 31, 1954, licence conditions may become more restrictive.

They have suggested that the condition: " Furniture and effects as furniture removal contractor and/or warehouseman but excluding new furniture from manufacturers," should take the place of the existing one, which, in the Metropolitan Area, reads: "Ordinary furniture removals as defined by Section 125 of the Transport Act, 1947."

The fear is based on the wording of the condition suggested by the Licensing Authority, reading: "Household and office removals," which, to the removers, appears restrictive. The Authority's intention, however, is to frame a condition which will allow "no more and no less" than under the 1947 Act

Asked by a representative of The Commercial Motor how the proposed condition would affect, say, an operator engaged in an overseas removal, an official of the Licensing Authority said tha.:: it would be covered by it. "Our aim was to make the condition as brief and simple as possible," he said. "As to how it is interpreted is entirely a matter for the individual."

"The tooling of two types in this range is already completed," he added_ The Commercial Motor has known. of this development for two years, but the company will not release details..
