Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• I WM Freight Services is planning a big push into the Scottish parcels market after joining forces with the Nightfreight Group.

Its operating area includes the Lothians, Fife, Tayside and Central regions where it aims to boost delivery and collection services.

"Delivery covers the costs," says Glenn Baxter, assistant manager at the BFM Bathgate site. "Collection provides the cream."

Nightfreight had not previously sold its services north of the border and this led to an imbalance between collection and delivery. BIN managing director Eric Anderson says a first-class delivery service must be coupled to a professional sales effort if "a profitable balance is to be achieved".

BEM has four new 7.5-tonne Iveco Ford Cargos which will run in the Nightfreight livery with uniformed drivers. Each truck has a cab phone.

BFI■il operates 19 trucks from its 9,290m site which includes warehousing. Anderson was fon-nerly managing director of ANC (Scotland).
