same position as C Scase (Dear Sir, Commercial Motor, Dec 13). I paid 2400 for a one-week course to pass my HGV Class One in June, 1986. After successfully completing the course I thought there would be no shortage of HGV vacancies. How wrong I was.
Since June I have visited Job Centres in Swansea and Cardiff, bought all the newspapers covering most of South Wales and have written to over 250 companies located between Llanelli and Bristol. After all this I have received only 35 acknowledgements, have been offered three interviews (for two of these interviews there weren't even any vacancies) so where do I go next?
Where are the future HGV drivers coming from?
