Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Andover-based bodybuilder Pannell Engineering has produced the first in a range of new articulated tipping trailer bodyworks.

The 9.1m semi-trailer body can be supplied in either steel or aluminium, fitted to a choice of trailer chassis equipped with either air or mechanical suspension.

Recessed steps on both of the side walls, and a horizontally-split tailgate are included in the standard specification. The tailgate features an unusual boomerang-type pivot mechanism which swings it out, up and then clear of any material, to prevent clogging when tipping.

The first Pannell tipping trailer to go into service has been bought by K&J Noakes of Wrotham, Kent. The air-insulated body has a 25m3 capacity and Hyva single ram tipping gear, although a choice of tipping ram can be specified by operators.

It is mounted on a heavyduty Andover Trailers' tandem-axle chassis plated for 38-tonne GCW operation. The frame has tubular steel cross

members for extra stability and extra ram support cross members.

The Noakes trailer has a kerbweight of 5,200kg, although Pannell claims a payload of around 22 tonnes can be achieved by using an uninsulated body with a lighter trailer chassis. Noakes will be using its new trailer to carry aggregates and tarmac for motorway construction work.
