BECAUSE a company, among other things, "fell into the worst category of licence operator" the Metropolitan Licensing Authority, Mr. D. I. R. Muir on Wednesday refused to renew a threevehicle A licence operated by G. Harvey (Transport) Ltd. After an all-day hearing, Mr. Muir, in his decision, said that he had taken this action for several reasons—non-co-operation and evasiveness on the part of a director with vehicle examiners, and because an examiner had, on one occasion, been threatened with physical violence. There was also abundant evidence, he said, that vehicles had been used without excise licences or insurance coverage, plus convictions recorded against the company.

At the same hearing, Mr. Muir removed, under section 177(1) of the 1960 Act, two vehicles from the licence of F. A. Amatrudo because they had ceased to be used under the licence.

Mr. Muir also suspended for two months the A licence of Catchpool Transport Ltd. In this case, Mr. Muir said that he was satisfied that one of the company's directors had made false statements as to operating centre.
