• January truck registrations are nearly 10% up on those for the same month last year, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders' monthly figures.
Mercedes-Benz took pole position with 479 registrations of trucks over 3.5 tonnes, followed closely by Iveco Ford which recorded 467 sales.
I lans Tauscher, the new managing director of MercedesBenz, says the figures are "very good news for the truck industry. The economy is showing continued signs of sustained recovery and the figures for truck sales continue to reflect the improving conditions."
