SPECIALIST body-building is on the way out, and the num of body-builders expected to leave the industry this year is lil to rise rapidly.

And the reason for this, says George Quayle, chairman of the National Manufacturers' Council of the Vehicle Builders and Repairers' Association, rests with legislation.

The warning was given at a meeting of members of the Midlands branch of the Association.

"British and European legislation has wiped out all hope of any future for the low production specialist," Quayle told members.

He added that he believe was inevitable that number of one-off body signs would decline simply cause of the mounting cost developing special bodies.
