Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A two-mile length of "expressway" track has been operating at South Park, Pittsburg, for the past two years, during which the vehicles have travelled about 125,000 miles and carried 100,000 passengers.

Mr. Oakley thinks the system can be used by cities of up to 3.5m. population by the use of elevated tracks running above the main streets. An estimated cost of £500,000 per mile in Britain would cover installation of the track and computer circuits, but would not include vehicles.

Westinghouse has also approached the British Airports Authority and Manchester City Corp. Mr. Oakley suggests that a small trackway could be built at Heathrow Airport to handle the large number of passengers using the airport when the jumbo jets come into operation in the 1970s, The airport installation would be solely for inter-building transport—not for carriage into the centre of London.
