THE Leyland deal to provide a bus factory for Russia was elevated to top international status during Soviet Premier Alexei Kosygin's visit to London this week.
On Tuesday, a formidable list of possible trade deals between the two countries was discussed with Mr. Wilson and other Ministers at Downing Street, and the Leyland project was one of the main items on the agenda.
Later, Leyland's Sir Donald Stokes joined about 70 other guests at a formal dinner party for the Soviet leader at Downing Street, where general exchanges continued.
