ANOTHER large number of exBritish Road Services' lorries has changed hands in the past week. Details of the transactions are given

below: SCOTLAND Mr. Ernest Sanderson, Bearsden. has bought another live vehicles, including an articulated outfit (10 tans). One of the lorries (3 tons) has been transferred to Mr. Duncan McKendrick, Auchtermuchty, and another (3 tons) taken over in an earlier purchase, has gone to John Macdonald and Co., Glasgow.

Direct purchases of ex-British Road Services' vehicles have been made by Mr. Robert H. Johnston, Renfrew. one (1 ton); Mr. Donald B. Spence, Wick. one (3 tons)., South Wynd Garage Co., Colinsburgh, one (11 tons); Mr. Thomas B. Band, Perth, one (3 tons); Mr. Matthew Strachan, Dunfermline, one (11 tons); Muir's Transport, Ltd., Cupar, an articulated outfit (1S tons); and Mr. David J. Dunabie, Maybole, an articulated outfit (11 tons) William D. Tucker (Haulage Contractors). Ltd., Kirknewton, have taken over two lorries (14 tons) from Mr. William D. Tucker, of the same address; Mr. Sam Anderson. Newhouse, one (5/ tons) from (sir. William Cameron, Glasgow; Mr. James W. Casten, Bishopbriggs, one (41 tons) from Mr. Sam Anderson; T. C. NORTHERN AREA Three lorries (SO tons 14 cwt.) based in Newcastleupon Tyne have been transferred to Cusick (Oldham), Ltd., Thornton Street North, Manchester, 9. by Mr.s.T. G. Gibson. 3 Arrow Street. Salford, 7. • Mr. S. Hughes, Leeds Road, Mirfield, has sold a lorry (4 tons 16 cwt.) based at Ferryhill, to Stainforth Haulage Co., Settle, and an articulated outfit (2 tons 12 cwt.) to Mr. H. Fcaron, Beech House, Bolton Gate, Carlisle.

The Sutherland Transport and Trading Co., Ltd.. Lairg, Sutherland, have taken over a trailer from Mr. E. Fye, Beverley, Cart Road, Whitehaven, A special A licence for an articulated outfit (25/ tons) granted to Messrs. Sunter Bros.. Boroughbridge Road, Northallerton, has been revoked on the transfer of the unit to an ordinary A licence.

A new purchaser, Mr. T. Dcgg, Lightwood Road, Longton, has acquired nine lorries (29 tons).

First purchases have also been made by Mr. J. E. Dewar, 148 Cochin Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, of two lorries (6 tons); Mr. L. J. Lambe, Moat Hill Farm, Charford, Bromsgrovc, two (7 tons); Mr. a H. Lymer, New Road Garage, Tean, Stoke-on-Trent, two (51 tons); Mr. F. Read, Grey Tree, Ross-on-Wye, two (9 tons); and Mr. H. L. Robinson, 34 Hampton Dene Road, Hereford, a lorry (5/ tons) and a trailer.

Mr. Dewar has transferred one of his lorries (3 tons) to Messrs. E. D. and N. E. Hayes, 27 Barnard Road, Sutton Coldfield, and the other (3 tons) to Mrs. D. M. Williams, 93 Lawrence Road, WordsleY, Stourbridgc. Mr. Lambe has sold a lorry (31 tons) to Messrs. May and Rutherwood, London, S.E.I6. Six lorries (251 tons) based at Oldbury have been bought by Mr. S. Hughes, Leeds Road, Mirficld. Two of these (10S tons) have been transferred to Anthony Curran (Liverpool), Ltd., 2a Ford Street. Messrs. William Hayes. Junr., Forest Lane, Walsall, have purchased another three lorries (13 tons), and Messrs. E. and J. Davis, Stockwell Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, two (61 tons), one of which (3 tons) has been made over to

EAST MIDLANDS Comberhill Motors. Ltd.. Olympia Garage. trigs Road, Wakefield. have added to their fleet two lorries (11 tons II cwt.) based at Barton-on-Humber.

Mr. I. Brindley, The Close, Shamford, near Hinckley. has bought another nine lorries (31 tons), one of them (3 tons 4 cwt.) from Mr. Its S. Hamblin, 203 Leicester Road, Thu rmaston. Seven have already been resold. one (3 tons) going to Messrs. lIarrison's Transport. 114 Woodville Road, Hartshorne; one (2 tons 1 cwt.) to Mr. G. 11. Morris. West View, Cotesbach, Rugby; one (4 tons II cwt.) to A. E. Creed and Co.. Ltd., 5a Great Central Road, Loughborough; three (131 tons) to Murphy Bros.. Ltd., Feature Buildings, Melton Road. Thurmaston, near Leicester; and one (3 tons 4 cwt.) to Messrs. W. and G. Cox, 7 Auburn Road. Blaby.

Two other lorries have also been transferred by Mr. Hamblin. one of them (2' tons 19 cwt.) going to Mr. G. W. Woodward, High Street. Barwell, and the other (3 tons 6 cwt.) to Mr. D. L. Beeson, Chestnut Farm, Amesby. Murphy Bros., Ltd.. have, in turn, transferred seven lorries (12 tons 9 cwt.) to Murphy Bros. (Transport Division), Ltd.. 6-8 Selboume Street, Loughborough, and one (3 tons) to Messrs. F. Spence and Sons, Bilshy, Alford.

More lorries have been assigned by Mr. J. Ball, Stacey Road, Mansfield. One (8 tons) has gone to Messrs. L. H. Mills and • Son, 13 Daniel Hill Terrace, Sheffield; one (71 tons) to Bluebird Garages (Hull). Ltd., Hull; and one (7 tons 12 cwt.) to Mansfield Haulage, Ltd., Stacey Road Garage, Mansfield.

Alfreton Transport, Ltd.. Meadow Lane. Alfreton. have taken over two more lorries, one (2 tons 19 cwt.), coming from Messrs. Brownhills Motor Sales, Main Street, Bidwell, Nottingham, Mr. R. A. Brackenborough, Station Road. Commonside, Old Leake, Boston. has taken over from Mr. E. F. Bracken. borough, of the same address, one (2 tons 13 cwt.) of two lorries (5 tons 7 cwt.).

Further assignments have been made by Mr. V. J. Grange, 124 Bridge Street, Peterborough. Highlander Coaches, Ltd., 51 Milton Road, Harpenden, have taken over Irons him a lorry (4 tons). Mr. J. W. Mason, 79 Fairmont Crescent, Scunthorpe. one (3 tons), and Messrs. Steadman and Swain, Wrangle. one (2 tons 19 cwt.). The Rufford Motor Co., Ltd., Mile Hill Garage. Mansfield, have transferred to Mr. F. C. Tomlinson, Cottam, near Retford, a lorry (3 tons 3 cwt.) taken over from Woodcocks Transport (Chorley). Ltd., Park Road Garage, Heskin, near Chorley.

EASTERN COUNTIES Repeat purchases have been made by Mr. C. E. Ground, Cradge Bank Road, Spalding. of a lorry (3 tons): Mr. M. G. Loades, Encicote, St. Mary's, King's Lynn, one (5 tons); and Reads of Peterborough, Ltd., Stone Lane. Peterborough, an articulated outfit (41 tons).

0. G. Barnard apd Sons. Ltd.. Station Road, Stowmarket, have sold two more lorries. one (3 tons), to Mr. E. A. W. Nolloth. High Street. Wenhaston, and the other (3 tons). to Mr. S. Brown, 3 Brewhouse Lane. Soham.

Mr. P. Davies, 388 Sutton Road, Southend-on-Sea, has taken over a lorry (3 tons) from Church Road Motors (Southend-on-&a), Ltd.. Church Road, Hadleigh; Messrs. A. J. Hart and Son, Dovecote Farm. Little Gransden. one (3 tons) from Mr. A J. Hart. of the same address; and Vickers Transport Co. (Peterborough), Ltd.. 36 St. Leonards Street, Peterborough. one (21 tons) from Mr. V. J. Grange, 124 Bridge Street. Peterborough. Knowles (Transport), Ltd.' New Road, Wimblington. have exchanged two lorries weighing 8 tons unladen for two (6 tons) with A. G. Mr. J. R. Parsons, 232 Fishponds Road. Bristol. has acquired another articulated outfit (3 tons 1 cwt.) and transferred it to
