71 Following two years of negotiations with the EC, the Swiss government has agreed to accept 40-tonners from 2005. The 28-tonne Swiss limit will be phased out with a gradual increase in the number of 40-tonners allowed to transit the country.
The toll for 40-tonners has been capped at £140 (200 Euros) for an average journey of 300km.
