Leopard coaches rebodied by Plaxtons, in time for the start of the 1988 summer coaching season. Plaxtons will carry out the rebodying exercise after the original chassis have been stripped by National Welsh's own central works. All the coaches have Leyland TL11 engines.

Although this type of work is normally only carried out following a major accident, National Welsh says it is taking the step as a cost-effective way to modernise its fleet.

According to engineering director John Wilkins, all the coaches will be rehodied as 53-seaters for National Holidays work. The move follows a successful rebodying exercise carried out last year with two vehicles for the schools market.
