Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Peugeot Talbot has revised the engines, styling and payloads of its 205 range of hatchback panel vans. The model line-up remains largely unchanged with standard and diesel versions of the little hatchback van, but the increase in gross vehicle weights (5kg for the petrol models and 20kg for the diesel models) means that payloads have increased by a similar amount.

The new petrol engine is the 1.1 litre TU Series unit, which delivers 41kW (54hp) at 5,800rpm — over 13% more than the previous X Series engines. Torque is also increased, to 89Nm (661bft) at 3,200rpm, which is up 4% on the previous engine.

The new engines have a redesigned light alloy cylinder block, with revised oil circulation. The cylinder head is also light alloy, with a four branch exhaust manifold to improve the breathing. Weight has been pared from the pistons, and the valve gear. The 1.9 litre IDI diesel engine remains unchanged.

The 205's dash has undergone a complete facelift, although the original instrument binnacle stays unchanged. The controls and the switchgear are redesigned, with a new glovebox and storage compartments. A different pattern cloth trim on the seats of the GL models is combined with a new steering wheel and door trims for all the models. The rear tailgate wash/wipe on the GL models now has a continuous wipe function.

Exterior changes on the 205 are confined to a new tailgate with an aerodynamic lip for all models, and new wheel covers for the GL van.
