ICL Transport, the distribution division of British computer manufacturer ICL, is taking delivery of 15 new vehicles as part of a fleet up-grading programme.
The vehicles are eight Ford Cargo 1515s, six Volvo F7s and a Volvo F12. The Ford Cargos will be used for local distribution work, with seven Volvos equipped for drawbar and demount operations throughout the UK and Europe.
. Each vehicle is equipped with chassis-mounted Ratcliff 1,500kg (3,300 lb) cantilever tail lifts which can be used at loading bays to form the ramp between the vehicle and warehouse. Push-button control provides electro-hydraulic powered raising, tilting and lowering; the platform can be closed against the rear roller shutters of the vehicle to provide added security for the expensive computer equipment carried.
Here a Volvo rigid is fitted with Ratcliff lift, Hatcher Night Rider sleeper pod with Adcliffe demountable box body and Monsanto anti-spray equipment.
